By we I mean me, but it seems rude to leave Jack out entirely. He was a key player in making this happen. I'm due January 16th (happy birthday Savannah!)
The first trimester was HELL and I seriously mean that. I do not understand why people say they like being pregnant and want to have more kids. Michelle promises that when you have that little person you forget about the hard times. We'll see about that sister. :)
Here is a recap of the last few months
We found out May 12th at 6am. I had a sneaking suspicion that I was pregnant as I'm normally very punctual with my cycle. Jack had been asking me to take the test for a few days but I didn't want to waste the money as I figured I would start up any second. Jack was down in the basement and heard me moving around upstairs. He came charging into the bedroom to see if I had taken the test or not. (I promised him I would the night before) He looked at it and said TWO things.
It's positive. (shows me the test, kisses my forehead)
Your boobs are going to be so huge!
As promised from months earlier I called my cousin Tera first. Jack called his parents and I then decided sharing this news over the phone at 6:30am was a little lackluster so we decided not to call anyone else.
May 13th was Mother's Day. I got mom a card from her grandchildren and signed it from Sam, Dutch & baby Stephens. She was SO shocked!! Stand on your head and enjoy!
We called Michelle & Ashley on the way home from my mom's to let them in on our news.
I decided that I didn't want anyone else to know for awhile. I was really afraid of losing the baby and having to tell everyone that it was no longer a go. On Memorial Day we hosted a BBQ for both sides of the family and it was apparent that our secret wasn't going to last the party as I could hear it being whispered around between the immediate family. So we spilled the beans to everyone present. My Aunt Sara is by FAR the best reaction. She screamed & jumped up and down and screamed some more. I WISH there was video. It was amazing.
June 21st we had our first doctors appointment. We got to see our baby and I cried like a wimp. It was so reassuring to see that everything was ok in there and it was alive! I was terrified that it would be bad news.
First picture 10 weeks 1 day (head on right, feet on left)
Jack made me a chalkboard so I could copy Ashley and have fun weekly photos. I bought a super stretchy dress that I'm hoping to wear till the final week. It's not flattering at all right now as it showcases ALL the lumps & bumps of my un-toned bod but I'm hoping it will be fun along the way.
Week 11
Week 12
(pretty sure I was sucking in last week so I made a point to really stick it out)
Week 13
And today at Week 14
(Both in SKINtight black dress & normal clothing)

YAY!!!! So excited for you and Jack! I totally agree-- I didn't think being pregnant was fun at all. I mean, the whole "growing a human" thing is neat, but I didn't understand the "glowing" thing. How are you supposed to glow when you feel like crap? Anyway, 2nd trimester is awesome. Enjoy it!! SO looking forward to meeting Baby Stephens eventually. Can't believe there have been so many babies lately. Granny is probably doing a song and dance number in Heaven over this. :)
YAYYYYY!!! i love the pics- and excellent choice to wear the same dress! i love baby casey so much already. He is going to have an awesome sense of humor i think- and good fashion sense- never caught in black and brown i bet! love you guys!
